When we plan a visit to Hill
stations, we have certain expectations like thick forests, peaks of mountains
shining brightly, snow covered peaks, streams, rivers, varieties of trees etc.
etc. Shimla is situated in the lower ranges of the Himalayan Mountains and is
surrounded by pine deodar, oak and rhododendron forests. Snow covered high
ranges are towards north of Shimla.

– This church is situated on The Ridge. It is the second oldest church in

believed that they have medical values.

glade shaded by ancient deodar trees. Having many temples, a fair is held here.
The Ridge – It
is a large open space in the heart of town. From here we can see the excellent
view of mount ranges. The snow peaks shine like anything and they are worth
seeing. In cities, we never can have such sights. Tudor Library building at the Ridge
is also worth seeing.
State Museum - It has the
collection of Himachal’s rich
heritage. Traditional art, craft, carvings, paintings and sculptures are
displayed here, representing the heritage of Shimla.
When we visited Shimla, we were fully
satisfied. The moments we enjoyed there, are still in our remembrance. The
facilities and comforts which we enjoyed were marvelous. The tour organizers
had organized the tour very nicely. All the spots were shown by them. Hotels,
restaurants, travel buses etc. were superb. Shimla has been developed as one of
the most popular hill resort.
Last but not the least, what we
enjoyed is shopping. Shimla offers a variety of shopping. Varieties of woolen
cloths, local art and craft items, are eye catching. There is a big shopping
mall also.
Lovely natural beauty, winter sports,
snowy slopes, views of snowy mountain peaks of Himalayas, thick forests,
streams, different sightseeing places, hotel accommodation, the pleasant
climate, made our journey the best and unforgettable.
Now a day, Shimla has become so
popular that many a times it becomes over crowded but then also, it is worth
